Corendon Airlines becomes the first airlines in Europe to launch IATA Travel Pass after a successful trial

Following the conclusion of sucessful IATA Travel Pass trials in November 2021, Corendon Airlines has announced that it will implement the app on select flights across its network. Corendon Airlines is the first airline in Europe to fully integrate IATA Travel Pass on its filghts. IATA Travel Pass was developed by IATA to offer travelers a safe and secure way to manage their COVID-19 test and vaccination certificates for travel and check that they have met all health requirements for their destination. Passengers can store all their test results and vaccination documents related to COVID-19 on IATA Travel Pass and submit these documents electronically, without contact to the airline, before their journey. This will help avoid queuing and congestion for document checks.

IATA Travel Pass is free to download for Corendon Airlines passengers

IATA Travel Pass, which is currently available on certain Corendon Airlines flights, can be used by Corendon Airlines passengers by downloading it to their mobile phones free of charge from Apple and Android app stores. The app also includes information on travel restrictions and practices related to the COVID-19 in the countries to be traveled to. Corendon Airlines (XC) and Corendon Airlines Europe (XR) flights, for which the IATA Travel Pass application can be used, are currently valid on limited routes. For Corendon Airlines, the application is available to use on either the flights departing from Antalya to Nuremberg, Hannover, Munich, Cologne and Dusseldorf or departing from these cities to Antalya. For Corendon Airlines Europe, the IATA Travel Pass is applicable to the flights departing from Dusseldorf to Lanzarote, Gran Canaria Las Palmas, Fuerteventura and Tenerife or vice versa. Corendon Airlines aims to increase the number of destinations where IATA Travel Pass app can be used in the forthcoming period.

The detailed flight list and contracted laboratories within the scope can be viewed from within the IATA Travel Pass application.

Olcay Türker, CFO, Corendon Airlines, mentioned that Corendon Airlines values to invest in technological solutions and development in order to keep the pace with the customer needs and requests. Türker also added; “We believe that IATA Travel Pass is highly efficient for passengers as well as for the airlines and airports. The application allows passengers to keep their COVID-related documents, such as test results, vaccination or recovery documents, in a digital platform all together which makes travelling easier and safer in terms of privacy and protection of personal data. I also would love to share that we are very happy to be the first airline in Europe to successfully complete the trial of IATA Travel Pass.”Nick Careen, IATA Senior Vice President Operations, Safety and Security said,“It’s great to see IATA Travel Pass becoming operational across the world. We congratualte Corendon Airlines on becoming the first airline in Europe to join a growing list of carriers implemeting the app. Digital solutions are required to manage the complex mess of travel health credentials that governments require and Travel Pass has proven itself to be an effective tool. The app also unlocks the potential for convenient contactless travel processes from check-in to boarding in the future.”
